Tour Overview

Tour through the major attractions of Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, taking in the most interesting and exciting destinations and getting a taste of traditional rural life in these fascinating countries. We will discover dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, learning about the city’s French colonial heritage and war-time history, visiting the incredible underground network of the Cu Chi Tunnels. We will venture deep into the lush Mekong Delta to shop at a floating market and see how the local communities live. We will explore the charming town of Hoi An, visit the famous Cham Museum and ascend the spectacular Marble Mountain. In Hue, we will tour the ancient citadel, cruise down the Perfume River, discover fascinating royal Mausoleums and experience a lively market. An intrepid overnight train journey will take us to Ninh Binh, one of the most scenic regions in Vietnam, where we will cycle through the enchanting mountainous terrain. We will cruise through magnificent Halong Bay, taking in the striking limestone islands, secluded coves and impressive caves. In Vietnam’s historic capital, Hanoi, we will tour the city’s most important monuments, before flying to Laos to discover the picturesque town of Luang Prabang and it’s surrounding attractions, including the mystifying Pakou Caves, hill-tribe villages, the remarkable Kuang Si Waterfall and a bear sanctuary. We will get a taste of the energetic capital cities of Laos and Cambodia - Vientiane and Phnom Penh - taking in atmospheric temples, historic monuments and harrowing memorials to the Cambodian genocide. We will take a boat trip to peaceful Tonle Sap Lake, visiting floating villages and learning about life on the lake. We will unravel the magnificent Angkor Temple complex, seeing the best of the majestic temple ruins, including the iconic Angkor Wat, and the pink sandstone Banteay Srey Temple.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival - Ho Chi Minh

Greeted  at airport by our guide and driven to hotel. Check in hotel and have free time.

OVERNIGHT: Ho Chi Minh MEALS: No

On arrival at Tan San Nhat Airport in Ho Chi Minh, you are met by our guide and taken to your hotel by private transfer. You may have free time to relax and explore at your own pleasure.  The bustling   Ho Chi Minh City in southern Vietnam, still called Saigon by many locals, was originally a fishing village built up on a vast swampland, but it has developed into Saigon under the French domination. The effervescent development has bought Ho Chi Minh some cosmic changes from a war-torn city to a thriving metropolis. However, the architecture, local culture and  lifestyle of Ho Chi Minh  are still a reconciliation among French, American and Chinese influences. This metropolis rapidly becomes a commercial and cultural center of Vietnam, punctuated with elegant new international hotels and exclusive restaurants, crowded with motorbikes, cars and vociferous cyclo drivers, and excited by numerous shopping areas, sidewalk cafés and noodle stalls. They create a dynamic urban area in very special sense and make for an endless exploration.

Day 2

Ho Chi Minh City Tour

Spend this day  exploring Ho Chi Minh, including Nguyen Hue Boulevard, Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, Reunification Palace, War Remnant Exhibit,  Jade Emperor Temple, Saigon China Town and Ben Thanh Market.

Day 3

Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi Tunnels – Tay Ninh – Cao Dai Temple

Take a drive west to explore Cu Chi Tunnels. Continue onto Tay Ninh and  visit Cao Dai Temple with mid-day ceremony. Travel by road back to Ho Chi Minh.

Day 4

Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta – Can Tho

Drive to My Tho and visit Mekong Delta on a boat trip along the Mekong River. Stop at Unicorn Island to explore the local life before heading to Ben Tre, home to many cottage industries . Keep driving to Can Tho.

Day 5

Can Tho – Cai Rang Floating Market – Da Nang – Hoi An

Get up early and take a boat trip along the Mekong River to explore Cai Rang Floating Market.  Transfer to airport for flight to Da Nang. Greeted by our guide and driven to Hoi An.

Day 6

Hoi An City Tour

Spend this day exploring Hoi An with Japanese Bridge, Museum of Trade Ceramics, Chua Ong Pagoda, Old Tan Ky House and Phuc Kien Assembly hall. Have free time to relax.

Day 7

Hoi An – Hue

Take a drive to Hue, with stopover at Hai Van Pass and Lang Co Beach. Check in hotel in Hue and visit Hue with Imperial Citadel and  Dong Ba Market

Day 8

Hue – Ninh Binh

Take a boat trip along Perfume River to see  Thien Mu Pagoda. Continue to visit Ming Mang and   Khai Dinh Mausoleums . Drive to see Open Air Arena and have free time to explore Hue at leisure.  Travel by night train to Hanoi.

Day 9

Ninh Binh – Bich Dong – Tam Coc

Arriving in Ninh Binh, take short drive to hotel.  Spend this afternoon to visit  Dinh & Le Temples in Hoa Lu  and ride your bike to Bich Dong Pagoda. Enjoy boat trip to see the scenic scenery of Tam Coc.

Day 10

Ninh Binh – Halong Bay

Drive through the Red River Delta, catching a look at roadside villages and rice fields. Arrival in Halong Bay Embark a cruise for two day trip in Halong Bay, visit the scenic stone landscape and enjoy sea activities.

Day 11

Halong Bay – Hanoi

Get up early to join the Tai Chi exercise or explore the bay at dawn. Visit Surprise cave and have brunch on cruise before heading back to Hanoi.

Day 12

Hanoi City Tour

Spend a day to explore Hanoi, seeing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum ( close on Mon. and Fri) and  Ho Chi Minh House , One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of  Literature  and Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.  Take a walk around the old quarter and enjoy a water puppet show.

Day 13

Hanoi – Luang Prabang

Fly to Luang Prabang in Laos.   Spend this afternoon to explore  some sights of Luang prabang, including Wat Visoun  and Phousi Hill.

Day 14

Luang Prabang – Pakou Caves

Continue exploring Luang Prabang with Wat Xieng Thong Temple, Royal Palace , National Museum and Wat Mai. Take boat trip along Mekong Rive to see Pakou Caves. En route, visit Ban Xieng Lek and Ban Xang Khong.

Day 15

Luang Prabang – Kuang Si Waterfall Trekking – Bear Sanctuary

Drive to Ban Long Lao Village of Hmong hill tribe people and start trekking through lush jungle to Kuang Si Waterfall. Enjoy relaxing and swimming at turquoise pools and  visit nearby bear sanctuary.

Day 16

Luang Prabang – Vientiane

Fly to Vientiane. Met by our guide and drive to hotel. Start a guided tour of Vientiane and visit Wat Sisaket , Haw Pha Kaew , Patouxai and That Luang Stupa .

Day 17

Vientiane – Phnom Penh

Leave Vientiane for Phnom Penh on an afternoon flight. Met by our guide and driven to hotel. Spend this afternoon to visit Royal Palace and Silver Pagoda.

Day 18

Phnom Penh – Siem Reap

Continue seeing Phnom Penh with National Museum of Cambodia, Wat Phnom, Toul Sleng Museum. Take a walk around Central market in Phnom Penh before flying to Siem Reap. Met by our guide and driven to hotel

Day 19

Siem Reap – Angkor Temples

Drive to Angkor Temple complex. Spend this day seeing this  mystical site with Angkor  Thom, South Gate, Royal Enclosure,  Bayon  and Angkor Wat .  Catch a sunset view from Pre Rup Temple.

Day 20

Siem Reap – Banteay Srey

Head out of Siem Reap Town, explore Banteay Srey Temple. Continue seeing  Ta Prohm Temple, Neak Pean and Preah Khan.

Day 21

Siem Reap – Departure

Board a local boat to see  Tonle Sap Lake and floating houses of fishmen living on this lake.  Transfer to airport for departure.

PASSPORT & VISA

The passport must have six-months validity remaining and one blank page for entry stamp. To enter Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, foreigners require a valid visa, except  nationals of certain countries, which may visit  these countries  without visa for a period of time. You are required to contact our sales dep. to get the update visa exemption.

VACCINATION

At this time, no vaccination is required, but you should check with your doctor the health  information of Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.

CUSTOM REGULATION

1.LAOS:

Laos  custom regulation: free import  of  200 cigarettes or 500 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco;  2 liters of alcohol or wine or 5 liters of beer;  1 item of perfume or eau de toilette; personal effects.

The foreign currency in amounts exceeding USD 2,000 (in cash or checks) must be declared on arrival or departure.

2.VIETNAM

Vietnam custom regulation: free import of 200 cigarettes, or 20 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, 1,5 liters liquor at 20% volumes and above or 2 liters liquor below 20% volume or 3 liters of alcoholic beverages (excl. wines) and soft drinks, 5 kilograms of tea in maximum, 3 kilograms of coffe in maximum, a reasonable quantity of perfume and personal belongings, and other goods, total value of which is not exceeding ten million VND.

Import and export of firearms and ammunition is prohibited. Transit transportation of firearms, ammunition, explosives and highly dangerous goods is subject to prior approval from the government of Viet Nam.

No restriction of currency is applied for entry or exit Vietnam. However you must make the declaration if you bring along  Vietnamese Dong in excess of VND 150,000,000 or foreign currency in excess of 5,000 U.S. dollars or equivalent.  

3.CAMBODIA

Cambodia  custom regulation: free import of 400 cigarettes or 100 cigars or 400 grams of tobacco,  2 liters of alcohol or wine,  350 milliliters of perfume or eau de toilette, personal effects.

Currently, goods worth more than USD 100 are subject to customs duty and taxes and goods with a value of more than USD 300 must be declared on a Customs Declaration Form.

The foreign currency in amounts exceeding USD 10,000.- (in cash or checks) must be declared on arrival or departure.
