The easiest and the most convenient way is to travel by plane. There are plenty of international flights to Vietnam. Two biggest airports are in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC/ Saigon). You can also travel to Vietnam by bus or train from neighbouring countries like Cambodia, China or Laos. It’s cheaper option but not as comfortable as a plane.
The National commercial airline is Vietnam Airlines, provide the fly route to 21 destinations across the country and is a reliable option. If you are on a budget, Vietjet and Jetstar are two affordable options but have a reputation for frequent delays.
While you’ll find rental shops in almost every city, travellers should take care if planning to travel by motorbike in Vietnam. Rental prices depend on the quality of the bike. On average, most bikes go from 8 to 15 USD/day. You may be asked to deposit your passport at the motorbike company or leave a monetary deposit if renting a vehicle for more than a week. Always wear your helmet when on Vietnamese roads.
We always recommend to book services as soon as possible for the best services can be arranged. However, in case you are unable to book as soon as expected, you are suggested to book at least 2 weeks prior to travel date in the low season and 5 week prior to travel date in the high season. There is no guarantee we will have availability once you decide to book close to travel date.
It’s very easy to buy a train ticket online in Vietnam. You just need to visit website of the railway station, choose the date, the route and the seat. Payments are also processed online.
Traffic jam is a huge problem in big cities (Hanoi, HCMC) of Vietnam. We wouldn’t recommend anyone to try ride a bike or motorbike there if you are not experience to ride a bike before.
