Traverse Vietnam in this two week adventure from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. Traverse Vietnam in this two week adventure from Hanoi to Ho Chi Minh City. We will start our journey in historic Hanoi where we will discover the capital city’s fascinating culture, historic sites and vibrant street life. We will embark on a boat trip through world-famous Halong Bay, gliding past limestone islands jutting from the emerald waters and visiting the magical Thien Cung Cave. We will take an adventurous overnight journey on a sleeper train, towards Ke Bang National Park. Here we will explore glorious and majestic caves by boat, foot and kayak, with a chance to try the zip line and mud bathe inside the caves. As we travel South, we will pass by the remarkable the DMZ Area which separated North and South during the Vietnam War. In Hue, we will explore the ancient citadel and cruise down the Perfume River, visiting pagodas and mausoleums in the area. We will take a walking tour through the picturesque town of Hoi An, learning about its multicultural heritage, seen in the unique mix of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese architecture. Stopping at the sensational Marble Mountain, we will continue travelling by train south to Nha Trang and relax on one of Vietnam’s best beaches. The train journey continues its way  to buzzing Ho Chi Minh City, where will will explore the city’s French colonial history, war-time memorials - including the notorious Cu Chi Tunnels - and atmospheric streets. We will spend a day in the verdant Mekong Delta, visiting the watery world ,  lush islands and intricate canals.

Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival – Hanoi

Greeted  at airport by our guide and driven to hotel. Check in hotel and have free time.

OVERNIGHT: Hanoi MEALS: No

On arrival at Hanoi Airport, you are greeted  by our guide and taken to your hotel by private transfer. You may have free time to relax and catch your first glimpse of Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam. This treasured city is a fascinating blend of East and West, combining traditional Sino-Vietnamese motifs with French flair. The building boom has made Hanoi a rapidly developing city in Southeast Asia. However, it still retains an old charm brought from a thousand year of history, with many interesting cultural and historic monuments, beautiful lakes, shady parks, bustling street markets, funny shops and open air eating spots jostled in ancient houses, and historic temples adjoining colonial style structures. They offer both local and foreigner visitors an endless exploration. You can stroll through the fascinating old quarter containing many vibrant streets which are named after the specific goods once offered for sale at these places. The lively atmosphere in Hanoi old quarter runs from the early hours until late at night  with many street vendors calling, horns honking, and chaotic traffic with waves of motorbikes you’ve never experienced.

Day 2

Hanoi City Tour

Spend a day to explore Hanoi, seeing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum ( close on Mon. and Fri) and  Ho Chi Minh House , One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of  Literature  and Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.  Take a walk around the old quarter and enjoy a water puppet show.

Day 3

Hanoi – Halong Bay

Take a drive through the countryside to  Halong Bay. Embark a cruise for two day trip in Halong Bay, visit the scenic stone landscape and enjoy sea activities.

Day 4

Halong Bay – Hanoi – Dong Hoi

Leave Halong Bay for Hanoi and have some time free to explore the town. Board a night train to Dong Hoi.

Day 5

Dong Hoi – Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park – Hue

Arriving at Dong Hoi, take a drive to Phong Nha – Ke Bang National Park. Enjoy a boat trip to explore Phong Nha and Dark Cave. Travel by road to Hue with stopover at DMZ Zone. Visit Ben Hai  River and Hien Luong Bridge.

Day 6

Hue City Tour

Spend this day to explore Hue with Imperial Citadel and Dong Ba Market. Drive through rolling hills to visit Minh Mang and Khai Dinh Mausoleum. Take a boat trip along the Perfume River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda.

Day 7

Hue – Da Nang – Hoi An

Travel by day train along  the coastline to Da Nang. Visit Cham Museum and Marble Mountain before heading to Hoi An.

Day 8

Hoi An City Tour

Start exploring Hoi An on a morning walking tour. Visit Japanese Bridge, Museum of Ceramic, Phung Hung Ancient House, Chua Ong Pagoda and Phuc Kien Assembly Hall. Have free to relax and explore at leisure.

Day 9

Hoi An – Da Nang – Nha Trang

Travel by day train to Nha Trang. Get a real experience of Vietnam and see landscape changing all along the way. Check in hotel in Nha Trang and relax.

Day 10

Nha Trang Boat Cruise ( Joint Group)

Spend this day out on a boat trip to explore Nha Trang Bay. Visit some islands of Hon Mun , Hon Tre  and Hon Mieu then relax on a beach

Day 11

Nha Trang – Ho Chi Minh

Board our day  train again  and travel south to Ho Chi Minh. Catch a view of  pristine beaches, villages and Cham Towers. Arriving in Ho Chi Minh, take a short drive to hotel and relax.

Day 12

Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi Tunnels – Ho Chi Minh

Drive to Cu Chi and explore the  Cu Chi Tunnels. Return to Ho Chi Minh and Enjoy a half day city tour, including Nguyen Hue Boulevard, Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office , War Remnant Exhibit then take a walk in Ben Thanh Market.

Day 13

Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta – Ho Chi Minh

Travel by road to Mekong Delta and take a boat trip on the Mekong River to explore  Mekong Delta. Visit Unicorn Island and Ben Tre with cottage industries. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh with stopover at China Town.

Day 14

Ho Chi Minh – Departure

Check out hotel and transfer to  airport for departure

PASSPORT & VISA

The passport must have six-months validity remaining and one blank page for entry stamp. To enter Vietnam, foreigners require a valid visa, except  nationals of certain countries, which may visit Vietnam without visa for a period of time. You are required to contact our sales dep. to get the update visa exemption.

VACCINATION

At this time, no vaccination is required, but you should check with your doctor the health  information of Vietnam.

CUSTOM REGULATION

Based on the current custom regulation of Vietnam, visitors can get free import : 200 cigarettes, or 20 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, 1,5 liters liquor at 20% volumes and above or 2 liters liquor below 20% volume or 3 liters of alcoholic beverages (excl. wines) and soft drinks, 5 kilograms of tea in maximum, 3 kilograms of coffee in maximum, a reasonable quantity of perfume and personal belongings, and other goods, total value of which is not exceeding ten million VND.

Import and export of firearms and ammunition is prohibited. Transit transportation of firearms, ammunition, explosives and highly dangerous goods is subject to prior approval from the government of Viet Nam.

No restriction of currency is applied for entry or exit Vietnam. However you must make the declaration if you bring along  Vietnamese Dong in excess of VND 150,000,000 or foreign currency in excess of 5,000 U.S. dollars or equivalent.
