Travel from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi, stopping at Vietnam’s most treasured attractions on the way, and explore two contrasting sides of Lao, with a stops at bustling Vientiane and charming Luang Prabang. This tour starts in thriving Ho Chi Minh City, where we will tour the city’s colonial buildings, vibrant markets and war memorials, including a trip to the fascinating Cu Chi Tunnels. We will explore the lush Mekong Delta by boat, cruising past floating fish farms, rice fields and verdant islands. We will discover the picturesque town of Hoi An, strolling to the main attractions such as the Japanese Covered Bridge. We will ascend the sensational Marble Mountain and visit the beautiful Cham Museum, before reaching the ancient citadel of Hue. We will boat down the Perfume River, exploring temples, mausoleums and markets in the surrounding countryside. In historic Hanoi, we will see the city’s most captivating monuments, museums and pagodas, including the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the Temple of Literature. We will experience one of the most scenic regions in Vietnam, Ninh Binh, absorbing the peace and beauty of this rural area. Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Arrival – Ho Chi Minh

Greeted  at airport by our guide and driven to hotel. Check in hotel and have free time.

OVERNIGHT: Ho Chi Minh MEALS: No

On arrival at  Ho Chi Minh Airport, you are met by our guide and taken to your hotel by private transfer. You may have some time free to relax or discover at your own leisure. The bustling city of Ho Chi Minh, still called Saigon by many locals, was originally a fishing village built up on a vast swampland, but it has developed into Saigon under the French domination. The effervescent development has bought Ho Chi Minh some cosmic changes from a war-torn city to a thriving metropolis. However, the architecture, local culture and lifestyle in Ho Chi Minh are still a reconciliation among French, American and Chinese influences. This fast growing city is now punctuated with elegant international hotels and exclusive restaurants, crowded with motorbikes, cars and vociferous cyclo drivers, and excited by numerous shopping areas, sidewalk cafés and noodle stalls. They have formed a dynamic urban area in very special sense and make for an endless exploration in this  south Vietnamese gem.

Day 2

Ho Chi Minh – Cu Chi Tunnels

Drive to Cu Chi and explore the  Cu Chi Tunnels. Return to Ho Chi Minh and Enjoy a half day city tour, including Nguyen Hue Boulevard, Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office , War Remnant Exhibit then take a walk in Ben Thanh Market.

Day 3

Ho Chi Minh – Mekong Delta – Hoi An

Travel by road to Mekong Delta and take a boat trip on the Mekong River to explore  Mekong Delta. Visit Unicorn Island and Ben Tre with cottage industries. Drive back to Ho Chi Minh with stopover at China Town.

Day 4

Hoi An City Tour

Spend a half day exploring Hoi An on a walking tour. Visit Japanese Bridge, Museum  of Trade Ceramics, Phung Huong Ancient House, Chua Ong Pagoda and Phuc Kien Assemby Hall. Have free time to relax on Cua Dai Beach and do some shopping activities.

Day 5

Hoi An – Da Nang – Hue

Take a drive north to Hue. En route, visit Marble Mountain, Cham Museum, Hai Van Pass. Arriving in Hue, check in hotel and visit Hue Citadel.

Day 6

Hue – Hanoi

Relax on a boat trip along the Perfume River and visit Thien Mu Pagoda and Emperor Minh Mang. Take drive to see Khai Dinh Mausoleum and Dong Ba Market. Fly to Hanoi  and check in hotel.

Day 7

Hanoi City Tour

Spend a day to explore Hanoi, seeing Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum ( close on Mon. and Fri) and  Ho Chi Minh House , One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of  Literature  and Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.  Take a walk around the old quarter and enjoy a water puppet show.

Day 8

Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Hoa Lu – Bich Dong – Tam Coc

Drive to Ninh  Binh.  Visit  Dinh & Le Temples in Hoa Lu  and ride your bike to Bich Dong Pagoda. Enjoy boat trip to see the scenic scenery of Tam Coc.

Day 9

Ninh Binh – Halong Bay

Drive through the Red River Delta, catching a look at roadside villages and rice fields. Arrival in Halong Bay Embark a cruise for two day trip in Halong Bay, visit the scenic stone landscape and enjoy sea activities.

Day 10

Halong Bay – Hanoi – Luang Prabang

Get up early to join the Tai Chi exercise or explore the bay at dawn. Visit Surprise cave and have brunch on cruise before heading back to Hanoi.

Day 11

Luang Prabang City Tour

Spend  this day exploring Luang Prabang Town.  Visit Wat Xieng Thong, Royal Palace, National Museum, Wat Mai and Wat Visoun. Walk up  to Phousi hills,  visit this hill top temple and catch view of Luang Prabang.

Day 12

Luang Prabang – Pakou Caves – Kuang Si Waterfall

Take a boat trip along Mekong River to visit Pakou Cave. En route , stop to see Ban Xang Hai. Explore Pakou Cave and drive to Kuang Si Waterfall.  Visit some hill tribe villages and relax by this waterfall.

Day 13

Luang Prabang – Vientiane

Travel by air to Vientiane. Spend this afternoon seeing Vientiane with  Wat Sisaket, Haw Pha Kaew, Patouxai and That Luang Stupa .

Vientiane – Departure

Check out hotel and transfer to  airport for departure

PASSPORT & VISA

The passport must have six-months validity remaining and one blank page for entry stamp. To enter Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia, foreigners require a valid visa, except  nationals of certain countries, which may visit  these countries  without visa for a period of time. You are required to contact our sales dep. to get the update visa exemption.

VACCINATION

At this time, no vaccination is required, but you should check with your doctor the health  information of Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia.

CUSTOM REGULATION

1.VIETNAM

Vietnam custom regulation: free import of 200 cigarettes, or 20 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco, 1,5 liters liquor at 20% volumes and above or 2 liters liquor below 20% volume or 3 liters of alcoholic beverages (excl. wines) and soft drinks, 5 kilograms of tea in maximum, 3 kilograms of coffe in maximum, a reasonable quantity of perfume and personal belongings, and other goods, total value of which is not exceeding ten million VND.

Import and export of firearms and ammunition is prohibited. Transit transportation of firearms, ammunition, explosives and highly dangerous goods is subject to prior approval from the government of Viet Nam.

No restriction of currency is applied for entry or exit Vietnam. However you must make the declaration if you bring along  Vietnamese Dong in excess of VND 150,000,000 or foreign currency in excess of 5,000 U.S. dollars or equivalent.  

2.LAOS:

Laos  custom regulation: free import  of  200 cigarettes or 500 cigars or 250 grams of tobacco;  2 liters of alcohol or wine or 5 liters of beer;  1 item of perfume or eau de toilette; personal effects.

The foreign currency in amounts exceeding USD 2,000 (in cash or checks) must be declared on arrival or departure.
