LOCAL TRAIN: HANOI - LAO CAI
The Ha Noi-Lao Cai train sruns every day, departing from Ha Noi Train Station at 120 Le Duan Street. Three run at night, and one makes a day trip. The following trains are from Ha Noi to Lao Cai (PM: SP1, LC1, LC3; AM: LC5) and vice versa (PM: SP2, LC2, LC4; AM: LC 6) daily. The daytime route offers only hard seats, whereas travelers can enjoy soft-sleepers, air-conditioned, four-berth cabins on the night trains.

VICTORIA TRAIN
The Victoria Express Train offers the more comfortable air-conditioned soft sleepers. This train is the best one in terms of comfort and services from Hanoi to Lao Cai and vice versa. The Victoria Express train offers two luxury sleeping carriages, one restaurant connected to the train, all with air-conditioning. Due to the increasing popularity of this alternative, they offer tickets to those staying at Victoria Sapa hotel only. The seat on Victoria Express especially deluxe cabin is limited therefore the booking of your berth in together with hotel long in advance is recommended.

TULICO TRAIN
The Tulico train offer comfortable, air-conditioned soft sleepers. This is not a luxurious train but offers a good alternative transportation to Sa Pa from Ha Noi. This train has soft sleepers, air-conditioned and clean four berth cabins. You will be provided with one bottle of water, a small snack and a napkin.

RATRACO TRAIN
The Victoria cars, Tulico cars, Friendly cars, and Ratraco cars are a part of the LC5 and LC 6. They are alternatives for tourists to Sapa from Hanoi. The Ratraco train is one of the best trains to Sapa with wooden cabins.

FRIENDLY TRAIN
The Friendly train, like the Tulico train, is not a separate train, but offers soft sleepers, air-conditioned and clean four berth cabins in 2 carriages which go with local trains (LC5 and LC6) between Hanoi and Lao Cai. This train service provides passengers with one bottle of water, a small snack and a napkin.

ROYAL TRAIN
To serve tourist requirements, the Royal Train is also part of a regular train with 2 carriages in SP1 and SP2 which offers air-conditioned, soft sleepers and clean four berth cabins.

LAO CAI - SAPA TRANSFER
The Ha Noi - Lao Cai train stops in Lao Cai Town, just 40 km from Sa Pa. In order to reach Sa Pa, you will need to travel an hour and a half through a connecting bus or private car. The bus stops at Sa Pa's main post office, leaving you with a couple of minutes walk into town. This can also stop at your hotel, depending upon the location of the hotel. The ticket prices for connecting buses Lao Cai - Sa Pa are US$ 2 per way. The tourist bus back to Lao Cai leaves from outside Sa Pa's church, but it can usually pick up passengers at their hotel. You can inquire with the staff at your hotels for getting a bus ticket back to Lao Cai Station.
