DETAILED ITINERARY |

The tranquil Vinh Long Town is set on the border of the mighty Mekong River which provides a comprehensive network of canals and channels. Today we depart hotel at 7h30 and travel by roads to Vinh Long. On arrival we enjoy a boat trip on the Mekong River and explore the vibrant floating market of Cai Be where each boat usually sells one particular item, whether it be pumpkins, pineapples, sugar canes. In order that customers know where to shop, the vendors hang that item from the highest part of the boat. Along the way we also visit the many fascinating local cottages industries including rice paper makers, sweet factory, bonsai nurseries. After a huge lunch at an orchard we weave our way to Vinh Long. At this small town we meet up with our vehicle for return. The trip ends after arrival in Ho Chi Minh. (L) |
