Naithon Noi Beach
This is a very pretty albeit short stretch of sand just before Naithon Beach proper. Home to just the single resort, Naithon Noi has good swimming and is about a 30-minute walk from the main Naithon Beach to the north. Unfortunately the single resort which sits astride the main entrance to the beach has a somewhat pig-headed attitude and non-guests may struggle to gain access to the beach.
Naithon Beach
With a long stretch of rather yellow, coarse sand, Naithon Beach is a great choice if you're looking for long empty swathes of beach -- no deckchairs, no vendors, no problem! There's a handful of cheapish eateries just off the beach so this can be a fine place for a daytrip. This is how many see Naithon beach as few traveller budgets extend to the rates asked at the mega-flash digs in this area.
Nai Yang
Nai Yang is best known as the location of the same named national park, but at the southern end there is a cluster of places to stay, along with the usual tourist-related shops -- yes there is yet another tailor shop here... Nai Yang is probably best visited on a day trip for a quick dip and a seafood meal.
Mai Khao
The Mai Khao Beach is the longest on Phuket . The beach has much coarser yellow sand than many of Phuket's other beaches and is shaded in parts, but quite exposed in others. You can walk along this beach for hours and never see another soul. While the swimming is fine during the high season, it's too rough to venture in during the off period and much of the sand is taken out to sea. Once a popular turtle nesting area, fewer and fewer turtles make it back here each year.
