The Ap Bac at Tan Phu village, Cai Lay district is an important site in the Tien Giang people’s revolutionary struggle history, is one of the glorious and heroic events in the history made by the liberation soldiers and people in South Vietnam in the resistance for national savation. The Ap Bac victory defeated the two main tactics in the special war: “ Heliborne and tank operations”, to upset the enemy’s pacification programmes in the Mekong Delta Region. The sound of the Ap Bac victory overcame space and exists forever with the time. It forcefully and fluently proves that the tradition of loving the country with heroic, creative, and intelligent will and tactics of the soldiers and the people of Vietnam in the liberation struggle so as to liberate and re-unify the country. It is over 20km from My Tho city in the west, and about 1 kilometer from National Road No 1A, visitors can see Ap Bac victory statue showing the heroic spirit of the past.
