DETAILED ITINERARY |
|
The mighty river of Nam Ou flows from the northern Laos though the mountainous region to Luang Prabang, giving adventurous fervours plenty of water sport opportunities. Heading out of town we set off on a short drive towards the upstream of the Nam Ou River. The local guide will provide some orientation and instruction in rafting technique. We begin rafting along the Nam Ou River to the Mekong River, exploring the riverside life, wonderful countryside and verdant mountain scenery. Along the way we make stop to visit the villages and the mysterious Pak Ou Caves. They are crammed with thousands of gold lacquered Buddha statues of various shapes and sizes, all brought there by devout villagers. We continue rowing down to Luang Prabang. The exciting experience and the interesting views of riverside villages will make for an unforgettable day. The trip ends on arrival in Luang Prabang. (L) |
