| 1. profile |
| Air Mandalay Limited, the first regional joint venture airline in Myanmar, was formed on October 6, 1994. The shareholders are the national carrier Myanmar Airways, Air Mandalay Holdings Pte Ltd of Singapore and Premier Airlines Pte Ltd of Malaysia. We currently fly to all major destinations in Myanmar and to Chiang Mai in Thailand.
Air Mandalay's logo depicts the mythological Royal Hintha Bird which symbolizes loyalty, respect for traditional values, stability, good luck and prosperity. The colour represents the numerous golden pagodas found throughout Myanmar-The Golden Land. Burgundy signifies the colour of the robes worn by Buddhist monks in Myanmar, thus standing for religious values.
Selection and training of our cabin crew is aimed at providing high levels of service consistent with Myanmar's gentle traditions. We employ both local and foreign pilots who are trained at Avions de Transport Regional's (ATR) training facilities.
The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers are trained at both ATR and Pratt & Whitney's facilities. Air Mandalay's aircraft are maintained to European JAR 145 standards. All aircraft in Air Mandalay's fleet are inspected twice a year by French DGAC.
