DETAILED ITINERARY |

The scenic lake of Nam Ngun is a huge reservoir created by damming the Nam Ngun River. This water body dotted with various stunning islands now becomes an ideal place for anyone seeking an enjoyable escape when the heat becomes unbearable. Today we make our way to Nam Ngun Lake past the beautiful countryside, stopping en route to visit Ban Keun where local people extract the salt. On arrival, we embark on a long tail boat for a few hour cruise to admire the picturesque scenery blending with the sky and islands rising from the clear water, and explore the interesting daily life of fishmen. They are the main population settled in secluded islands. Upon leaving Nam Ngun Lake we set off on our drive back to Vientiane. Along the way we make stop to visit Vang Xang, an ancient sanctuary of the Mon-Khmer Group and enjoy some wonderful shootings. The trip ends on arrival at hotel. (L) |
