The mysterious Beng Mela ruin boasts one of the largest ensembles built during the Khmer Kingdom, but is still lost in the jungle. This monument is enclosed by a huge moat and presents in places a veritable chaos of fallen debris beside the areas that remain absolutely intact. Today we depart hotel at 8h30 and drive on a rugged roads toward the Beng Mela Temple. The exploration of this ruins is somewhat arduous as we have to walk over debris and climb over trees. The temple decoration is simple and animated only in certain areas where we can find several bas-reliefs' showing scenes from the Khmer Mythology. The trip ends after arrival in Siem Reap Town. (L) |
